In 1958 Georges Berthoux took over from his father Charles, and began to cultivate the vines to produce his wines. He then combines wine-making and sheep farming.
For nearly 40 years, he will acquire plots to develop his vineyard in the communes of Jambles, Givry and Mercurey. In 1993 he decided to stop raising sheep to devote himself solely to the cultivation of vines.
The same year, Pascal Danjean, his son-in-law, joined in and began to vinify his first harvests. In 2002 he took over the entire family vineyard.
Lover of vineyard work, he manages the estate in accordance with sustainable cultivation methods to produce quality grapes and express all the typicality of our terroir.
After working for two years in the northern Rhône Valley in 2015 and 2016 and then vinifying two vintages in New Zealand in 2018 and 2020, his son Charles-Antoine joined the estate.
Today they cultivate, vinify, age and market their wines, on 13 hectares and five appellations.
